Call For Class Action Lawsuit Against Comcast - Details Follow:

I have had ongoing existing problems with Comcast at both my home and office, that have been going on for almost 6 months. I've called the "Office of the President" numerous times, where they kindly take my complaint and info, and then refer me back to "my regional exec office" where they are just as incompetent as anyone else I have dealt with at Comcast. They actually answer to no one there, and have even told me that. They are completely drunk with power. No one is accountable for anything at these regional offices. And, to add insult to injury, the "Office of the President" literally sends me right back to the same EXACT incompetent people who I have already previously complained about , in order to solve the problem that I am having with themselves?!

There is actually no escalation other than their B.S. call center that puts you in contact with a local "exec" office who think they are untouchable... well, the gig is up! I have been more than patient, and have stuck with Comcast through the many painful years. I have tried every way feasible to get hold of anyone else at their actual corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, PA, who is actually in a true executive capacity, and it is absolutely futile. The management, from the CEO on down, hide behind incompetence, and their game is over. Comcast, we could have done this the easy way, but now it's too late. Comcast has cost me literally tens of thousands of dollars in my business. I am at my wits end, and therefore, my attorney and I are putting together a class action law suit. If you have also unfortunately been injured by the bullying tactics of Comcast, and would like to be included in this Class Action Lawsuit, please email me at ComcastClassAction@gmail.com by June 30th, 2009.

  1. I am so spitting mad! I HATE Comcast. First: They STOOD ME UP THREE TIMES!!! for my installation. It took four appointments to get the jerks to actually show up, costing me significant time away from work. Of course, they expect YOU to sit around waiting for THEM during that special THREE-HOUR WINDOW..and then don't show up. (Let's see, four times three is 12 hours -- or a day and a half of missed work. Do you think I can BILL THEM at $100 an hour for wasting my time? That's at least $1200 of lost income -- really makes my monthly bill (that's another horror) add up, dontcha think???? COMCAST MUST BE BROUGHT DOWN!!! What is it that one company can do so horribly that engenders dozens of I HATE COMCAST websites, pages, and blogs??

  2. Comcast advertised heavily prior to digital conversion that people would not need set top boxes or special equipment if we stuck with them. Now due to their "digital migration" scheme I must have a DTA for each TV. I asked for a single box to descramble only the channels I pay for...NOT available. Then I asked for a lineup of the DIGITAL channels I could receive w/o a DTA. Told me I couldn't receive anything but analog. (That's wrong) and when I asked for a simple LISTING of digital channels, I was told that was unavailable. I now have all of these DIGITAL TVs, DIGITAL DVRS that are USELESS w/out the use of the COMAST equipment!

  3. I was laid off work do to the slowing economy on June 24th of this year. So I contacted comcast to see if I could lower my $158.00 a month bill. First of all the guy talked me into accepting a promo which would cost me $176.00 a month. Well the next month I did not receive a bill for $176.00 plus tax I received a bill for $406.00 dollars. They made a mistake and are sticking me with the bill. I talked to customer service and after an hour of arguing they forced me to accept a bill of $247.76 which I promptly paid even though I should not have had to. They waited until I paid the bill and then jacked the price back up sending me a bill this month for another $231.00 they are dishonest and shameful business people. They take full advantage of me all the while referring to me as a tier one customer....I am prepared to walk away from comcast this month and join a class action lawsuit. At one time I really did love the service this is such a shame for me to deal with this when I am dealing with being laid off and trying to support my family

  4. As of August 1st Comcrap did their digital upgrade here in Houston. I live in a condo and my HOA pays for the Cable. Prior to the upgrade my TV's worked fine. Picked up a nice digital picture. Used my televisions remote. But after their upgrade - nothing. Was told I would receive 2 DTA's and one digital box. When I go to the Comcrap store to pick them up, they give me the runaround and said I could only receive 2 DTA's - no box. I'm upset but especially since I was told over the phone that these items would be available to me. I get home attach the DTA's and realize that Comcrap has downgraded their service from Digital to Ananlog, yet they advertise this as a digital upgrade. I call again to the home office in Indiana and here 3 employees tell me I should have the digital box at no cost. It's part of the upgrade they are doing. I go back to the Comcrap store to try once again to get a digital box, but to no avail. I go home again and call back to the 800 number (Comcrap Indiana) they tell me they will send me a box and assure me there is no charge for this service. Of course the wrong digital box is sent to me and Comcrap will not acitvate it. They tell me I have to take it back for another digital box. I do this once again I assured there is no extra charge on this, its part of the package my HOA pays for.
I get this box home and cannot activate it, now I have to wait a week for a tech to come out connect my box. The tech came out yesterday, after 2 hours with him they get the box activated it. I come home today for a bill for 32.01 for a box that is suppose to be no charge (because my HOA pays for it) and a monthly usage charge for the upgraded service @0.1660 per day. Yes I have had the box for about 3 weeks but not acitvated until yesterday and now I have a bill for service that I didn't receive and for box that should be payed for by my HOA. Comcrap, way to go. What can I do.

  5. I'm a Comcast employee that was with the company 7 yrs. I had emergency surgery in May 2011, was on short disability and wasplaced on FMLA upon returning to work. Which I didreturn with restrictions for 30 days. My restrictions were I could work 4 hrs/daily 5 days a week ptovided I also would have a larger screen. What this means, my STD remained in exsistence but my employer paid for my hrs worked and STD paid for the balance. This happened on my return to wrk 7/11.

  6. Continue...During my return to work my supervisor and managers continue to lose records of my hrs worked. To make a long story short I lost my home, car and everything I had and was ask to leave my dewellings because I couldn't pay rent buy food or fill prescriptions. As of August 2nd I refused to go in to work until I was paid. I eventually had to involve dept of wage And labor, I did not get my entire pay at once the company seperated it in 2 payments. We started talking about the days

    ReplyDelete
  7. ......I had missed. HRM offered to rolled those days into a final, I refused to accept that. From that point neg. Started. The HRM and I spoke 2 more times, I was very adamant about not coming to allow Comcast to take my badge and escort me out. I asked to have my attendance record wiped clear for those days, I was informed by the HRM that he would need to pull my attendance record and he'd get with me in a couple of day. I received a certified letter about my emploment ending 9/23/11. I tried tireless to reach the HRM. No return calls just a quit/termination. The Company moved to far out for me to even travel it. I've applied for unemployment even that is denied. Employees get nice discounts while active once you become inactive the courtesy product rep, changes all the discount code never contact that inactive worker, all products go to regular rates' for cable, phone, internet and equipment the number of employees that has delt with these issues are far beyond belief.

  8. So I had an appointment set for today and when I called after they didn't showed up, they said ny appointment was set for Wednesday. Both me and ny girlfriend confirmed my appointment for tday(Monday). When we called we mentioned their satisfaction gaurantee, and they said they wouldn't honor it because my appointment was set for Wednesday. The rep changed the date in her paperwork. I work from home and need internet. My apartment complex has a monopoly with Comcast and this is bullshit.

  9. COMCAST HAS TERRIBLE SERVICE, WHEN YOU CALL IT GOES TO MEXICO OR THE PHILLIPINES. THEY SPEAK ENGLISH BUT DO NOT COMPREHEND WHAT WE ARE ASKING. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT TODAY BETWEEN 4-6PM BECAUSE I DIDN'T ANSWER MY HOME PHONE THEY CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT. NOTHING IN WRITING ABOUT THIS POLICY NOR WAS I TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CANCEL IF I DIDN'T ANSWER MY PHONE. ALL THE REPS CAN SAY IS I CAN RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.

  10. I was in the hospital and was only suppose admitted 3 days while in rehab a tech came in to my apartment took and my equipment the supervisor claimed tech was let in by first floor . Yes first floor let them in but tech had no right to come in 2nd floor without anyone here I got charged for new service and new equipment I think should give me the money back. For this happening only got a fifteen dollar credit. I pay lots of money I should not get charged for the guy breaking in enter guy just a warning.

  11. I started service in August and have had nothing but problems. I pay $190+ a month and consistantly have issues with HD quality and DVR issues. I don't get to watch shows as they air so I rely on my DVR. I have recently experienced my whole dvr library being completely erased. Twice. What's the point of paying for it if I can't use it?! Customer service is hit or miss, more miss than hit. The fact that Comcast charges their customers for fixing the cable's 7 company's problem is ludicrous. I wish Verizon Fios was available here. I'd pay the ETF in a heartbeat. I have NEVER been so disatisfied in s company before.

  12. I started service june12 and it was self install did everything correctly no service finally after calling fifty times for them to only tell me it was my fault or my outlet was not working they sent a tech july 18th only to find the outside cables were cut at the box then they tried charging me for june and the tech call. Then the lady that sat my account up added an extra reg box and internet after I told her I only wanted cable. She assured me it would be cheaper and I was only getting billed for the hd box & modemn the other box was fee after the first two months they started charging me for the second box. Then in october I made a payment that they said was the amount due only to have my services disconnected nov 11 after I told them I was going into the hospital to have back surgery. While in surgery my spinal fluid sac ripped I didn't come home until Dec only to have a 800 $ dc bill and then a "tech" showed up unannounced at 8pm pushed himself into my door way I could barely walk and almost knocked me down saying he was here to get my equipment I threatened to call the cops he left and when I called Comcast they had no recognition of him coming out and then they put two separate accounts in collection on my credit report. They lie and steal I wish there was something I could do.

  13. In These Tough Times Most Of Us Juggle To Keep Up....This So For Me....My Bill Is Due On The 30Th Of The Month. My Bill Is Around $150. A Month....i Recieved A Letter Saying That My Past Due Was $111.85 And It Must BE Recieved By 5/1/2013 I Payment Is Made After That Date I Was Subject To Shut Off And Payment N Full Would Be Due. I Dropped A Payment Off At A Service Center At 6Am 5/1/2013. At 6:30Am My Survice Was Disconnected. I Am Rarely This Late Now A Days...There Was A Time I Would Go 2 Months And Pay The Whole Thing. But If I Am Struggling I Should Be Able To Count On Comcast Sticking To The Termes Set In Thier Own Letter Mailed To Me. I Would Think Legally They WouLd Think Legally That They Would Have To Abide By The Dates And Amounts They Set Forth In Thier Ow Warning Letter....This Is The Second Time This Has Happened And Last Years They Made Me Pay The Entire Balance( Which Was The One Due On That Day). I Have To Call This Time And Expect The Same. I Know that Banks Have Had To Pay Out Big Settlements For Misrepresenting Thier Fees And dates. I Feel This Is The Only Way That Comcast Is Going To Follow Thier Own Letters. I Have All Supporting Documentation. Thank You. jennifer

  14. I have struggled with Comcast for years, one would think that there are already enough horror stories posted here to get something done about it if not here than certainly on the hundreds of other pages dedicated to hating Comcast. ive given up on complaining about, poor service, the fact that they give you a 5 hour window in the middle of the day for a tech to come "service" your box, has anyone else noticed that they no longer allow you to rewind live tv more than 2 or three minutes back. no doubt a ploy to get you to use there on demand service which I enrolled in years ago when there pitch was commercial free tv viewing, and is now loaded with more commercials than the superbowl. with their appealing fast forward and rewind service disabled. how is it legal to charge me for a dvr service that they disable at there convienence. the fact that a class suit has already been brought and dismissed tells me that they are payed up in the right places and that my cries of inadequate service and constantly inflated pricing will fall on deaf ears. so what can you do this being America there are supposed to be laws against monopolizing an industry so I would say fine ill take my money somewhere else .... no can do the only service available is Comcast I have no other option my suggestion to you all is close your Comcast accounts and get hulu .. however I am still bound to the devil for internet connection. how is this legal!!?? also whats with the fact that I live 10 minutes from my parents whos have the exact same service plans as me but pay almost 150 dollars more a month I have two hbo channels in hd where my parents only get one. when we talk to the rep were told that although you pay twenty dollars a month for 6 hbo channels and another 20 dollars a month for an hd box there is only one hbo hd channel available while im standing there 100% positive that at my home for less money ten minutes away I receive 2. I know this has turned into an illegible string of complaints and for that I am sorry but I cannot communicate how flaberghasted I am that this company operates with total impunityif another suite were to be brought I would gladly lend my name and stories of which there are too many

  15. we have had Comcasts overpriced service since 1995. we decided to move our 50 yr old residence and Veterinary hospital in Sept 2010 and EVERY COMPANY BUT COMCAST moved with us. instead Comcrap installed the wrong equipment...lost 3 of our phone numbers....then charged us for new numbers we didn't want...insurance we did not order and after 4 years, we still dont have it cleared up. We now have the dregs of cable that every week I have to call in and make sure the bill is correct and if thats not enuff, they are now racially profiling us and send ALL CORRESPONDENCE IN SPANISH as our name is Garcia :( this is the absolute worst company on the planet and you need to have your head checked if your ordering anything but basic basic cable.

  16. Due to economy of bundle being cheaper so I thought, my husband was laid off from his job a lot as he is union worker. So my Comcast service has been disconnected and then I would have to call make a payment plus a onetime reactivation fee. Today I learned I have been being charged 3 $5.99 charges. Even though I haves package each one is seperate. No customer representative ever stated this. So times that by how many years and howmany times. That adds up to a couple of $100.'s. And I am being charged fir two free adapters.

  17. I'm in! I'm on Social Security they have been ripping me off for some time I get same weird charges they take stuff off put stuff on I just spent 2 hours on with Them just now and trying to cancel my service and they say they're just there mean spiteful rude customer service is not quality and I would love to go in on a class action suit. they told me they wouldn't cancel my service I wanted to get rid of the cable and keep the internet they told me I couldn't until I completely paid all of my bill . So if you're behind and you try and get rid of stuff to get caught up they won't let you they will continue to charge you until you do get caught at which is just a scam. I hate Comcast I can pretty much match all of these stories here .

  20. Retired grandmother. Having a basic plan internet and paying by automatic draft. My bill just 5 months ago was $110 per month. Having no notificatios, happened to notice my bank draft for $230 from Comcast this month. Looking back realized they have charged this amount for past 4 months. When i called them, we didcussed, there was no reason for this increase other than normal rate changes. I told them i was on a fixed income and could not afford this amount. When the told me they cold bring the bill down to $200, but no refund on past overbilling. This is a terrible injustice to have doubled my bill without any notification when my bill was already to high.

  24. Contact me, I want to sue. Whenever I've called for technical support they change my plan. When I complain that I never authorized a change to my plan, they tell me that my previous plan is no longer available. This also rules in an extension of time in my two year contract with a $200 cancellation fee. All because of technical issues - nothing to do with any requests for change in plans. They breached their own contract and I'm paying the price. They have engaged in fraudulent sales, bad faith, and breach of contract. They must be stopped from committing more illegal activity. Please contact me, I want to see them in federal court.

  29. When I signed up for Comcast, I specifically asked for one receiver for our living room and denied their router, since I already owned a much fast router. One week later, I received four receivers and a router from Comcast. I called, waited three hours while they shuffled me along from person to person, until they decided I could return the receivers and router with no charge. I returned all of the equipment to my local Comcast office the very next day. However, I was charged for each receiver and router service for the next 7 months. I had to call every month, go through the same lame speech and hoops to get the charges reversed. In addition to this ridiculous problem, I continued to receive receivers in the mail from Comcast for every three month's for 2 years!! Also, their accounting department screwed up the billing to where I was only getting charged $3.81 per month for service. I called them the first three month's to have them rectify the billing. After each call, I was notified that the price changes would be reflected on my next month's bill, and each time my next months bill would still be $3.81. After 7 months, the approximate time I stopped being charged for the extra receivers and router, I received a bill for $785.68, which is double the amount of the monthly service I had ordered. I called, yet again, and was informed that that I was being charged for a higher package rate since I had not paid my previous bills. I provided copies of all my paid bills ($3.81), my numerous emails and dates of phone calls regarding my multiple issues, and all of the names of customer service representatives I had spoken to over the past several months, 27 people in total. After a total of a little over 8 hours of exhausting conversations, I was able to eliminate the entire bill, with the exception the last months charges at the correct rate. Finally, I had almost a year of correctly charged service...until I moved states. I returned the all of the equipment, with receipts, several days prior to moving. Like clockwork within one of the old billing cycle, I started receiving phone calls demanding the cost of the lost equipment. The phone calls and emails lasted for four months, until I implored a family lawyer write Comcast, explaining how their persistent and unwarranted contact is considered harassment, and that their client will be filing charges immediately. You know what? All of my equipment was found in a warehouse in Pittsburgh within the week. Convenient. This is seriously the worst company ever, with the worst customer service and ethical principles!!! I want to know how to participate in this civil action lawsuit!

  30. I have been a customer of Comcast/Xfinity for Years. I have had problems everywhere I have ever lived that I had Comcast service. I have been subjected Faulty Billing practices Being forced to pay amounts that I know I have already paid for. I have had them make Payment Arraignments for One date and attempt to take the money on a different date and mess up my bank account. I have paid collections for Cable boxes I have turned in but they claim they never received. And to tell me 6 years later to furnish a receipt that shows I turned in those boxes when they knew full well I wouldn't still have those receipts.. by the way this was in Washington DC when they were sending representatives to your house to pick them up. I have paid $500 in on month on a Bill I owed $600 dollars on Two months behind due to prepaid system and they still tell me I owed $600. During A time I was supposed to be on a 3 for $125 deal. I have set up my new account when moving which is bogus in itself because I should just be able to continue my account and Had them charge me for the same month twice and tell me they removed it after I was forced to pay for a 6 year old account they found when I set up the new account( this happened Twice back to back) I work from Home and My internet is not a luxury its a neccessity. I have been in my home Now for 3 months and for 3 months I have had comcast tech come out 5 times for my service working off and on of which I paid $300 for installation and that wasn't even to give me the kind of wiring I want just to run unsightly wires all over the place. I dont blame the techs at all they are not allowed to do more than instructed. Previous address I was charged for 6 months for a security service I never had the equipment to use and they would only refund 2 months after I complained I NEVER HAD THE SERVICE several times but after moving they couldn't find record of the other 4 months. IN the Current House I have been told they are going to have to run an underground line no one has said I have to pay for it but no one has said I dont. Despite all my current problems with service they gave me a $5 credit on 3 months of paying $280 per month of substandard service. I know this is all over the place but IM SOO TIRED OF THE COMCAST SHENANIGANS!!!

Supposed to be $99.00 a month from day one my bill has been $149.00 all the hidden and extra fees they never told me about. Than I get a letter that the rates are going higher net month. Now the bill is 170.00 I'm not paying that much for internet and duplicate channels. I only have cable for my kids and they aren't able to get half the cartoon channels without the main digital box. Complete garbage.

  33. When we moved into our house in 2005 the only internet service available was Comcast so we got Dish Network for our Cable and had to subcomb to Comcast internet. In 2008 our bill went up considerably and we noticed cable TV had been added without our knowledge, permission, or any service provided by Comcast for cable. When my husband contacted Comcast he was told the only way to get internet was with a bundle, we all know this is not true, he was told we could not make any changes to our service. We continue to call and complain and in 2011 we asked to use our own modem to bring our bill down a little. Mi d you we are still being charged and paying for cable TV that we never asked for, approved, or used. Of course our bill is auto pay thru our CC and we got tired of calling and complaining about the overcharge and unable to change companies as there were no other options in our area. Fast forward 2016. We were having our electrical wires buried and upon another disturbing conversation with poor customer service regarding cables being buried I began looking to see if there were any new options. Bingo Wow had come our way!! Excited to be free of Comcast I called to cancel service. Imagine my shock when the customer service rep told me I was being charged for cable TV since 2008 and I explained our continued response from Comcast that we had to have a bundle. Well she told me that was not true and that we could have stand alone internet. Apparently they have been feeding me a "bundle" of lies and deception for years. They offered me a one year refund. All I can day is FRAUD!!! I hope I can find help to get my $$ returned but most importantly to inform the public of this unacceptable treatment so no one else has to be taken advantage of.

  34. I called comcast to let them know i was moving so they said to take my cable equipment with me i moved and called to get my cable back on. Now i had two boxes befor and can only have one now. They sent me a bill that was higher and almost exactly like the bill from my last plae i lived. I called comcast and was told that I was a new customer and i would have to pay for all the extras.Which is something I didn't need. So I was told everything would be straighten out. I just received a bill and it was still as high.

  36. How do I join the class action lawsuit against comcast? I have been a customer since 2011 and my bill continuously increases periodically. I have to keep calling them about bill increases. When I originally signed up for services, I was told by their representative that my bill would NEVER go above $40. its currently at 196.00 monthly, and that's with me accepting their triple play package just to have it at this ridiculous price. It would be a great deal higher if I didn't go for the bundle package I currently have. My bill went from 172.00 to 192.00 for no apparent reason. When I call, no one can give me a valid explanation as to why that happened. My service did not change. nor did it improve. 192.00 monthly is still a far cry from the $40 that was guaranteed to me when I originally accepted their services.

  37. Is anything ever simple? I have been with Comcast since cable was available in my small NJ town in the 80's. I thought it was such a luxury then. I believe the bill was about $25 a month for Comcast and before that we had Prism.Of course fast forward to 2017...many years later in a small FL town, luxury is now necessity! We have Comcast and the two Dish networks. The Dish types aren't too great as we have a lot of storms with heavy winds... Thus Comcast is the new absolute if you want to watch TV and to be connected to the world. The billing is atrocious, service is poor at best and now you can't even figure out what you are paying for. There is a better way but involves being creative. There are things like HULU and Amazon Fire for example. Sad part is that Comcast still is more than likely part of the plan to have basic cable and the internet. I don't mind watching shows a day after but news should be current. And yes there is Century Link cable. More expensive for similar materials. I did a search just this morning with Century Link. Are they Comcast Jr.? So here we are with some really poor choices. The optimist in me thinks "well there are choices".....The pessimist says "not really." I'm open to suggestions and a lot of direction. I do think a class action suit would be in all of our best interest. Something has to give and I believe we as consumers should not have to give any more.

  38. I moved from Peoria to N.Aurora IL.I cancelled service , turned in my equipment and paid the final bill.I applied for a rental house in N. Aurora and my credit had collections from Comcast. I called and they said I didn't owe any money and it was a mistake and they would have it removed. That was 3 yrs ago. I went to apply for a truck loan and Comcast collections was still on my credit report. I called and talked to at least 6 customer service reps and they all said I didn't owe any money and they would fill out a ticket to get it resolved and it would take 7 to 10 days. 4 weeks later I get a letter saying it was paid in full but I can't get it taken off my credit report. And now the customer service rep won't return my calls. I have had service with them for the whole time this has been going on. And there rates aren't what I signed up for. They rip me off every month and I can't get out of the 2 yr contract without a penalty. Comcast sucks. I want to sure them for the 3 yrs of ruining my credit for no reason.

    1. Please let me know as well. I'm having the same issues with them, and always having problems with my cable. They tried to charge me everytime someone came out. It don't make no sense at all. I had a $89.00 package, which down the line came to 130.00 then 155.00 now 180.00 don't make no sense. Today i told them to turn it off, because it is always something.

  40. For year and a half I paid Comcast for Internet service without failure early and without failure I had to call them five times a week for no service and they lied and they kept sending out technicians that kept telling me they needed to come back with a bucket truck to finish the line out and put a new one in our year and nine months went by and they told me to go screw off they cursed at me and told me they wouldn’t fix my Internet connectivity problem now that I agreed to drop an arbitration under distress there now deducting the monies that they ripped me off from the money that they gave back to me I wish to sue Comcast, I have fingerprints of every technician that came here in the readings of -8 of no connection please contact me at 954-663-5239 look forward to hearing back to someone they have physically exhausted me that I had to go into the hospital multiple times because of the screaming matches over the phone with Comcast

  42. Had a Motorola DCX3400 HD/DVR set top box which I purchased in order to avoid paying the ridiculous $15.00 per month Comcast charge for their equipment. Had bought it in 2017 for my mother to replace a Motorola DCH3416 purchased in 2015 when Comcast unilaterally changed their protocol and desupported the DCH3416. Was working just fine, when my mother had Comcast come out to replace the remote controllers which weren't working properly. The Comcast technician (thief) who came out not only replaced the remote controllers but also my HD/DVR with a simple Comcast gateway. Not only did he do that (my mother didn't realize what he was doing), but he took (stole) the Motorola DVR, Mcard, DVR controller and manual and left. We reported this to Comcast Customer Service (ticket 048690672), and despite telling us that our equipment would be returned, they don't call us back, the equipment has not been returned, and they are always "working on it" when we call asking for status. Considering reporting the theft to the police Department, and filing in small claims court. Prefer to hook up with class action lawsuit and be reimbursed for the equipment, loss of use, installation cost and punitive action against Comcast for stealing equipment which doesn't belong to them and not returning it.
